The Times editor James Harding resigns

British journalist James Harding has stepped down as editor of The Times, effective from the end of this month, with his replacement to be consulted on with the national independent directors of the paper.

Rupert Murdoch, Chairman and CEO of News Corporation said 'James has been a distinguished editor for The Times, attracting talented staff to the paper and leading it through difficult times'.
